I’m an expat Scot and Associate Professor in a private university in northern Japan. I teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and classical music. Currently, I’m a doctoral candidate at the University of Liverpool on its online EdD programme. The posts in this blog mainly comprise my work for that.

My hobbies include playing the recorder and roasting coffee. There’s nothing to beat that smell when the second crack hits and the beans fully open up. If you’re ever up by my way, pop in for a cup.
